Welcome to the aDNA-lab HSE portal

This Wiki is meant as a tool for the students and staff working in the AGENSI Laboratory. The research groups that use these laboratories have affiliation with NORCE Climate, the Bjerknes Centre for Climate Research and the Molecular Ecology Research Group (MERG) at NORCE Environment.

Before you start working in our laboratories

No one is allowed to work in our laboratories without first completing the Lab Safety Introduction. This will be given to you by the AGENSI Lab Manager. It is required that all lab users understand and agree to abide by rules and regulations before starting any lab work. AGENSI leadership reserves the right to revoke lab privileges from any user if rules and regulations are not followed.

Our facilities

The AGENSI Lab contains of five lab zones. The configuration of these five zones consists of a restricted-access central Entry Zone (Zone 1) by which four activity-specific interior lab zones are accessed. These interior lab zones separately house equipment and furnishings for sediment handling (Zone 2), sampling preparation (Zone 3), DNA purification and template addition (Zone 4/6) and pre-PCR setup (Zone 5). These interior lab zones are therefore referred to as, respectively, the Sediment Lab (Zone 2), the Prep Lab (Zone 3), the Pre-PCR Lab (Zone 5) and the DNA Lab (Zone 4/6).
